Mmm… Sugar

Three cupcakes (one chocolate and two vanilla), One strawberry frosted donut with red & white sprinkles, One mini kit kat bar, One chocolate heart and Four Hershey kisses. That’s what I ate while at work today (in addition to breakfast and lunch.) People in my office brought in all kinds of goodies to celebrate Valentines Day. I have such a sweet tooth I have a hard time resisting the tasty treats. Also, it doesn't help when I get the mocking encouragement from co-workers like “Heck you’re going to run 90 miles after work right, you can afford to eat it!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hop River Trail

Mark and I met up yesterday at 5:30 AM at the Hop River State Park Trail and put in a nice 22.5 mile run. The trail is a “Rails to Trail” that has a convenient access point which is about 15 minutes away from each of us. It’s been a staple location in our training for a while.
This morning I took the kids back over to the trail for a little hike. They had a blast, each with a walking stick and an eye out for bears!
Ciara was pooped after the hike so she took a long nap and I was able to sneak out to the gym and get an 8.4 mile interval run on the treadmill. It was a solid weekend of training with 31 quality miles.

Florida Keys

Shannon and I took advantage of my parents watching the kids for the weekend (thanks Oma & Big Papa!) by extending our Miami marathon trip an extra day. We cruised down to Key Largo right after the marathon and spent the afternoon, night and following day relaxing and enjoying the sun! Before heading home Monday night we made the scenic drive along the keys to the Seven Mile Bridge. A very nice trip!
